Healing Past Pain

Rama my guide has taught me for years about how reality is created. This world, he has said, is not an illusion, but a creation. Many people say we are living in a simulation, that we are like Neo in the Matrix. I remember when this movie first came out. It changed the way people looked at the world. But in this movie the premise was that we were living in our bodies, yet experiencing life through a falsely created reality. However, our reality is not false rather, it’s just not what we think it is.

I began making the scones adding butter to white flour. The flour covered my hands. I studied it intently feeling its cool feathery touch. I looked up and said to the soul I loved, ‘Did you know that nothing is solid.’ I kept needing the tiny granules waiting for a response. But what response would anyone give. Nonsense is what. Utter poppy-cosh. Nothing is solid. Ridiculous! I kneaded the flour into small lumps and added the cool white milk. The reality of touch was so convincing. My feet felt the hard tiles, my body, the linen apron I wore. Yet despite the convincing nature of reality, I had discovered that there was truly no such thing as a particle, no such thing as solid matter. This discovery was the result of a statement Rama had made to me during a meditation. He said ‘Everything is created anew, in every moment and in every moment is held eternity.’ Follow this he said. So I did. I began first by exploring if this concept, that everything was created anew at every moment, held any truth to it.

I began researching. It seems that creation is layered, and a particle is simply the excitation in a quantum field. The possibility that the flour mixed with the milk and butter, forming salty, domes placed on a tray, were excitations in a field, was very hard to believe. However, I kept researching. The particle concept was fast becoming an outdated theory held onto only by physicists stuck in the Newtonian way of thinking. Mechanical physics did not account for quantum entanglement, nor did it explain the intelligence behind the design of all things. Why does an atom bind with other atoms to create a molecule that becomes an eye, or a leaf. So as I dove deeper I asked questions about the particle. I found that at the heart of a particle, of matter are the interactions of energy fields creating electromagnetic forces. It is these forces that hold the form of the field. Is all about relationship, how one field interacts with another. The particle is a field of fields all interacting holding form as a pattern that forms matter.

The oven bell dings. My fields of molecules are ready. The smell reminds me of a time when my Nana made us scones. The past, how does this relate to the theory that particles are fields of energy interacting? If everything is energy, that doesn’t die and can’t be created, it simply exists, then no matter dies, it just changes form, continues existing. If everything changes form, and is constantly being recreated anew because everything is always moving in the unthinkably endless quantum field, then nothing remains the same, nothing is ever constant, it only appears to be constant.

Well there is one thing that is constant and that is the Observer. Once the moment has passed, it renews into a new moment, just as the body is created anew as an ever moving field of excitations. The past renews and will never repeat again. You see this is the illusion; that all remains the same. It does not. All things change form. Permanence is an illusion. As the past renews, never to be replicated, we are freed from it. We may repeat similar mistakes, but we will never be in the exact same space in time that we were in the past. We can never be the victim of the exact same circumstances ever again and in that fact lies healing and freedom,

We, the constant observer keep the illusion of that what has happened, as permanent through our memory. However it is not permanent and so pain from the past is not set, nor is it unchangeable. We make it set in stone because we believe it still exists. It does not and so we are free. It is mainly our observation through the memory of our past, that the pain is kept alive. It is the fear and anxiety that keeps it alive as we relive through the emotional body, what has passed away into change and impermanence.

But let me ask you this; Where is the past? Truly for a moment ponder where the past is, where is it located? It is not in the present. It is no longer occurring. What does continue is the next form of the past, what it has transformed into and that is the Now. This shows that all things change form, nothing is set, the field is constantly being ‘excited’ through our observation, of which we are also the Experiencer. So we move from moment to moment, each moment passing into the next. It is not linear, but new in each space and time. Let’s go back to the possibility that the quantum field holds ALL within it, and ALL is, at a quantum level, energy constantly changing form, being created anew. How is it created anew? It simply moves into a new state as all ‘matter’, being fields interacting and bonding, changes form. The past pain we experience exists as a new form in the now, with what appears to be a linear experience, when really it is simply a reaction or interaction between fields, within the human creation. If all things interact, react and relate, and nothing is created in isolation, then it stands to reason that all things are connected as a creation of what was experienced in the passing moment. But ALL in the Now is new, and nothing truly ‘lives’ in the past. We the observer keep the past alive in our memory and energy bodies.

If we think about this and know that all we will experience, is connected to what we create now, that the past has no place in the present other than to set up the next moment in which we are free to create. What we create depends a lot on what we think should happen next based on the past, which in reality, is split into two things: an energetic zero and a memory. The past that was a moment in matter, acted out, as an excitation in the quantum field, is now resting at zero in the vast field of quantum possibilities. Yet this moment in the past has resulted in other excitations in the field of quantum data and is expressed as causality. The memory of that experience, or event in space time is now the drop of water resting back in the ocean. We remember the drop and it has ripples, but it is now resting in the whole of potential. Yet the ripple has been created and as a result of the old; new droplets are formed, creating more ripples and more droplets and so the ripples and waves continue creating a field of constant fluctuation that is life.

The baked scones sit now in a bowl, hot and deceptively solid. The smell creates within me a sense of calm. I made these based on a past memory, that I have used to create in this Now. I like baking scones so I used this past experience to create my new reality. They are not the same scones, those scones my Nana made that no longer exist. They are a memory and these are new but merely a drop that will become another memory in the ocean of my creation.

If the past is no longer existent, then we can heal the past because we know it is no longer present. The only pain it can cause us is how we relate to the memory of what is no longer in the Now. We have to recall our lives, our experiences as that is what we build on. We obviously see evidence of the past, but that is because we hold those ‘excitations’ of reality in place through our observation of them. This is how life presents as a continuity; we use memory to build our present. But still the past does not exist.

You might say, there is evidence the past is real because there are things, people, places that still exist. My scones may be eaten and so disappear, but what of a photo, an old teddy? The existence of these things are held in the now because we have ‘observed’ their field, and our consciousness is what keeps them in existence. So it is our observation of what we have experienced that creates the continuity. To be frank, it’s all about how WE observe it. I am reminded of my last channeling when Rama said, ‘It is all about YOU’.

So to heal from past pain what do we do? We change our memory of it as the observer, not through changing the sequence of events as they happened, but changing how we feel in response to the memory of the past events.

We have the power to change the way we perceive the past to an extent that it need not affect us. We might have an injury, an illness, but we experience this in the now. How it came about, we can change regarding the way we recall it. Not the event but the way we process the event, the way we perceive the event or experience it in the Now.

We may decide that we look at it from a different angle, a new perspective. The past is gone and you have every right to see it the way you choose, but we can only heal if we perceive it with a non judgemental attitude towards ourselves. This does not mean neglecting to take responsibility but rather seeing that, firstly, we will NEVER experience the same event again and secondly, understanding that the hold it I has on us does not have to continue.

If there are consequences from moments in the past that we deal with in the Now then this is the new field we are creating based on an old energy pattern, yet it is still ALL new!If there are consequences from moments in the past that we deal with in the Now then this is the new field we are creating based on an old energy pattern, yet it is still ALL new!
